Distribution Ice Cream Supervisor

Department: Supply Chain - Distribution

Position: Distribution Ice Cream Supervisor

Location: Winter Haven, FL

Summary: 

The foods we distribute reach customers in many ways. We deliver directly to our customer’s through 3rd party logistics operations, we offer well-known retail brands such Ben and Jerry’s and Good Humor products. This position will be responsible for the daily ice cream inventory for all our distribution branches and convenience store customers. This position requires a strong business acumen and a strategic mindset to reduce costs and meet customer demands.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise order accuracy, order process, order inventory and coordination of shipping and receiving.
• Provide assistance to Distribution Management and sales when needed.
• Reports inventory status of products on regular basis.
• Oversee cold storage operations to include ice cream volume levels.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound carriers to meet customer needs.
• Utilize a continuous improvement mindset, identify and implement opportunities to improve processes.
• Comply with and enforce all Company policies, safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.
• Use and enforce use of all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.
• Partner with all functional departments to meet Company safety, service, cost, and people goals.

Education/Experience:
• Associate degree in related field highly preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
o Two years prior supervisory experience in similar role required.
o Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred.


Other Functions:
• Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations, and accurately record data is required.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying schedules, as required.
• Must be willing to travel as needed.
• Must be able to frequently stand, sit, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to problem solving is required.
• Must possess a strategic and tactical business acumen.
• Must exhibit strong leadership skills and ability to train, mentor, and develop team members as needed.
• Must demonstrate ability to understand, interpret, and explain complex sets of data.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office Suite to include Excel, Word and Email.

• Must be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors.


Language Skills:
• English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.
