Payroll Specialist

Department: Accounting
Location: Dallas, TX

Position Summary:
This position is classified as a Non-Exempt position. The primary responsibility of this position is to compile and reconcile all hours and earnings to process payroll for the Borden Dairyís employee population, both hourly, salaried, commission, and union employees. In addition to processing payroll the position provides excellent customer service, completes reconciliations, balances and analyzes payroll information.


Role Responsibilities:

  •  Processing multiple payrolls in a timely and accurate manner
  •  Reviewing and balancing payroll prior to posting
  •  Problem resolution
  •  Assigning proper tax setup for new hires and existing employees  
  •  Setting up employee wage garnishments in accordance with state and local law
  •  Reconciling payroll accounts 
  •  Providing excellent customer service 
  •  Import Kronos files into Ultipro 
  •  Process ACH request from locations 
  •  Review and approve workflows for W-4ís, direct deposit, and address changes
  •  Generate reports for disbursement to field locations 
  •  Update hours in Kronos
  •  Run, review and analyze commission reports for payment
  •  Calculate commission, severance, vacation (unions), retro, and STD for payment
  •  Special projects as needed 
  •  Maintain employee data integrity between Ultipro and Kronos
  •  Paid-Time Off Reporting

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience processing multi-state payroll with 2000 pays or more.
  • Processing payrolls for multiple FEINís either in-house or utilizing third party vendor
  • Experience working in a start up environment is a plus.
  • Detailed oriented, accurate, and the ability to meet strict deadlines are critical to this position.
  • Applicant should possess excellent analytical skills and must have a working knowledge of payroll laws, taxes and garnishment rules by state.

  • Customer service focus, some leadership skills and good communication skills required.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word Skills
